We was looking forward to this out 4 season we had assembled a good squad but just before the season started a few of the players decided they were going to play for senior league sides or just didn't want to play saturdays we managed to sign 3 or 4 students but for most weeks for the rest of the season we was just scraping through with the bear squad but all credit to these players we only lost 6 league game we got well thrashed by Markfield 6-2 but the other 5 games we only lost by the odd goal and the 6 games we drew we should have won 3 or 4 of them but we were still in contention for runners-up spot right up until the last 3 games of the season when we blew it losing to L/Boro Town and Sileby Saints we won Asfordby 5-0 in our last game of the season to guarantee 4th spot in the league In our cup campaigns we didn't fare too well this season in the county 1st Rd we beat Magna73 3-2 we drew Cosby Utd in the 2nd and we lost 2-1 to probably the worst team we had played all season In the Cobbin Trophy we won Sileby Victoria 5-2 but we went down 4-1 to Shepshed Ams in the next round We can only applaud the players and the manages for there attitude and commitment to Falcons FC throughout season |
